Juvenile Court

The Juvenile Court Division represents the State of Georgia in Juvenile Court. This division is responsible for prosecuting felony and misdemeanor cases involving juveniles. Additionally, the division prosecutes truancy, run-away, curfew violations and other status offenses which are considered unruly offenses.

Children are subject to the jurisdiction of the Juvenile Court until age 17. However, the Superior Court has exclusive jurisdiction over children between the ages of 13 and 16 who are charged with murder, voluntary manslaughter, rape, aggravated child molestation, aggravated sexual battery and/or armed robbery.
