Great job by ADAs Max Smith, Wayne Jernigan, and INV Tim Davis with the Lamar County Sheriff’s Office. Their work at trial resulted in the conviction of Jessica Coffey and Phillip Norman for Aggravated Battery and Child Cruelty. Their eight week old daughter suffered from 29 broken bones, including both legs, both arms and multiple rib fractures. Judge Bill Fears sentenced the defendants to 120 years with 60 to be served in prison.
