The Towaliga Judicial Circuit’s top prosecutor has named a new Chief Assistant District Attorney.

Jonathan Adams has announced Elizabeth Bobbitt will take over as the Chief Assistant DA when Mark Daniel retires Nov. 1. Daniel has been the Chief Assistant District Attorney for the circuit since its formation in 1999.

The Towaliga Judicial Circuit comprises Butts, Monroe and Lamar counties.

Daniel announced his impending retirement in August. “He is a steadfast supporter of this office, this community and this state,” Adams said. “His hard work and dedication ensured that criminals were prosecuted and victims were protected … As a career prosecutor he represented the state for almost 30 years.”
